Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Here's a few pic's of my lamps...

I have a Giant running 12 hours on a 75W reptile bulb. I spent 3 hours

looking for a 100W R20 reflector bulb to no avail.  Guess I'll have to buy one off the net,,,

Reptile bulbs come in 50-75-100-150W versions.  They are meant to simulate desert conditions.

Just Google Petco so see what they have.  They put out allot of heat in aquariums to keep the

lizards warm like basking in the sun.. They don't follow the standard size like R20 and the 100w

is bigger, that's why I lowered the mount.

Guess I'd do anything to get this lamp up to temp for now.  Until I can find the right bulb.

Since this is my only source, I thought I'd give it a try.....

My eye dr. had an Iguana in a huge glass case and used those bulbs, I'm sure, so I got you on what a reptile bulb is,  just didn't know the difference in wattage and heat output between that type and the regular 100W for Grandes.   You can get them from LL's website and off Ebay.   But since you lowered the socket a bit, it should at least get you started until you can get the proper bulb!  Good Luck!!
