Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

So how many of you have lamps at work? I am considering bringing a giant to work just to see what people say.

Lol the little signs!

The little signs were my friend and colleague's idea.  They have been a big hit.  Lots of interest!  Many want to know when I'm bringing the Colossus in!  HA!

I was thinking today how even in this fast-paced world we live in, the lava lamp is STILL interesting to all ages.  I mean with all the stimulating games available to kids and adults, the lava lamp remains cool.

Seriously, I have young and old wanting to know more about them.  I'm all to willing to oblige... :>)

I wish i could take a fluidium into work!

I have four 52oz ones floating around the office. I have people making requests for me to make them one now.

The Rainbow was a real big hit at the office last week.  Everyone liked it!

This week's lava lamp(s) displayed at my office - Restored Midnight Purple/Clear and New Rainbow!

The Midnight was given to me by one of my colleagues.  It didn't flow and it didn't have a cap.  I put an in-line dimmer switch on it, found a cap, put a 60w bulb in it, and gave it a few milliliters of salt water.  It flows great now!

Just picked up the watermelon neon today.

So, displaying both the green and watermelon at work this week.

I bought one of those cheapo Chinese "Groovy Lamps" for my desk at work.
Sad to say it, but it actually flows better, and is crystal clear...no bubbles in the glass or cloudiness in the water...better than any lava lamp I've bought new in a while! :(
Just wish the base wasn't made of plastic!

Awesome! I just got a watermelonNeon, too!

yellow neon in the lab

This week's lamp is an Aristocrat Squiggle I won on eBay.  It was a green/blue and the wax was in bad shape.  So, I decided to fill it with white/orange.  I LOVE this lamp, and so did everyone at the office.

Excellent refill Kirk! I love your little signs, too!

Thanks, Erin. The dang iPhone camera doesn't do it justice -- it's a gorgeous Texas orange!  Hook 'em!
