agreed...

did they go full retro with actual twist on caps? or is it the current crimped bottle caps with a loose rest-on topper? with the standard size centuries came in black base...

When the caps fit loose on the globe, so they rock. The 52s were bad but in the last months or maybe even year it's been fixed. However my 3 recently bought grandes have TERRIBLE fitment on the cap

The caps on the current Grandes just sit on top of the bottle cap. They don't hug the globe, like on the smaller lamps. So, they look a little bit too big, are easily off center, and can get bumped/rocked out of place easily.

I'm almost positive these are bottle capped bottles. The screw on caps broke way too easily not to mention made it easier for idiots to drinks lava lamps :)

Yeah I'm pretty sure they're gonna be bottle capped. But a metal decorative cap can still be made to fit perfectly even if it's not screw on plastic lid. I'd just like em to fit without slack and rocking, so snug fit

ahh gotcha well most the grandes I have the caps are fine. I'm sure they'll be fine.

the early "rockers" were awesome and didnt move around... they had three little "tabs" that would fit gently around the bottlecap and keep it from moving around everywhere... much more robust. and the whole top rested on the face of the bottle cap instead of the lower edges touching the glass globe...
the current ones appear to be just stamped out of thin metal and the bottlecap doesnt contact the lid at all which is why there is so much movement...
