i received an e-mail reply from susan saying that my order will ship today.
They could do it by dipping, but it would be a lot cheaper to just wrap it. The demand for swirls is not that high so it would not make sense for them to re-release the lamps. If you want a swirl bad enough look on ebay, you are very likely to find all of them except red and the haze ones. The red one turns up fairly often though,

DW,
Another thing about the swirl lamps yes they were "hand painted" but really swirl paint does not involve a lot of time and certainly not brushes, it is simply a dipping process that "can" be done by hand but also done by machine too so it would not have to be shrink wrapped. I would think that a dipped swirl paint would be an easy lamp to do and charge a "Heritage Series" price for. The dipped paint would not cost much more than a standard finish and at double the price they'd make good money on them.
Really, though I'm just kinda thinking out loud as to where this new series might go to over time, if it goes any farther that is.
Have you received any pics of flow yet? Also any news on total production numbers? I've PM'd and emailed Susan but not heard back.
Thanks,
Critter
Dr. WHAT?! said:they have a shelve that has all their lamps on whether old and new, I wouldn't count on the swirls coming back,
Brad said:as critter pointed out, you can clearly see red and purple swirls and a blue elec-trick on the shelves in the photo dr. what posted, so it appears that they may be releasing more lamps in the future.
I'm going to have to disagree with you here. My order was only placed two days ago. Items don't always ship the same day you order, in fact, they rarely do.
And you're wrong about Apple - it took me FIVE WEEKS to get my iPhone 5S.
Items aren't boxed and ready to go in warehouses. They are picked, then packed, then shipped.

I'm sorry guys this is completely unacceptable. That's just not how businesses are suppose to operate sorry. No matter how mic we love lava lamps and sympathize for LL they are slipping up huggeee. You would never see a Microsoft or Apple or even smaller companies announce a release then take up to a week just to process orders. Sorry it doesn't work that way in real life. Like Rodrigo has said they should have been ready with boxes already packed just waiting to finalize and put the label on to ship. And if they ha a delay from china and they didn't tell is that's even more unethical and completely sketchy for a company of such a volume to do that.
When Apple sent me an email, it said it would ship over a month away. They were already back-ordered by the time I placed my order.
Obviously, lava lamps aren't in as high of demand as the iPhone 5S, but I guess I don't find it odd that only 48 hours has passed and I have no shipping email from them.

I'm sure it took weeks but I bet apple sent you a confirmation and another email saying that it would be shipped soon if not that the phone was on back order. Right though maybe by Friday LL can ship our lamps out. If we are lucky. But also let's be realistic. All they have to do here in the USA is box and ship. Not like they have to make and put the lamp together. But I understand your point also Erin.
I really like the look of the blue/white....anyone order one of those?
Yeah they are gold, they didn't build their website someone else did so they are clueless on what the color really is.
