Forgive me I don't know as much about mathmos. But why are lunars cost so much on eBay? Are they rare?

Yes lunars are rair - that's because due to the original cost, there size etc they only really sold to lava / Mathmos fans so even when they were first made not many were made as compared to the astro, telstar etc.

The other factor that makes the cost go up is that there is a high demand for them so due to this you cant get a cheap lunar - expect to pay 400 - 600 quid for one even if the starting bid is low.

Another factor which affects cost is condition (ovesley) and also that lunars often have custom bottles - that increase its value, rarity etc and puts the price up.
