Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hi all,

I have recently had my best find to date.  I managed to come across a Mathmos Jupiter 2.  At first glance I thought it was a Crestworth Galaxy but seeing the Mathmos sticker to the base I knew it had to be a later model and paid the £20 asking price.  It was only when I got home and began reading some later posts from this site that I realised what it was.  On the down side the perspex dome has a 2 inch forked crack but other than this the lamp is in great working order.

What I would like some advice about is the actual date of the item.  The research that I've done suggests that the Jupiter only had a limited run from between 1995-96.  However, what I presume to be the date on the sticker to its base says 01.08.93.  Any ideas?

Being more of a buyer/seller these days I'm going to list the lamp on eBay tomorrow evening and give a collector a chance of owning it.

More pics and footage of it working can be viewed here:

Cheers and best wishes...
