Need advice on building a Lava Wave Machine

Hi. I built 2 huge Lava tubes that went into my 80's themed movie/game room. Im wanting to add a Lava  Wave Machine, but I have found they are next to impossible to find. Im thinking of building a bigger one. Like maybe 2 or 3 foot long. my problem is I dont know where to start. I haven't been able to see the little mechanism to know where to get a bigger one to run such a big wave machine. and what are the liquids? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
