Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Saw this on facebook, they didn't do a good job showing this "tricolored hand painted globe" looks like a regular old pink/white. Not sure how I feel about this one either.

Cool. thanks

That brings it darn close to the price Lava Lite is offering.

All heritage Series lamps on sale during June. I think you can get a Heritage Grande from LL for $75 shipped.

Good deal imo.

Yea... use code "LAVALOVE2015" and get 25% off heritage lamps. Free shipping on Grandes puts it at $75 delivered.

okay so the shrinky dink wraps continue at LL.............. a earthy lava lamp? guh

Saw the "earth" lamp on FB again NO thanks! LL is realy pushing those color max lamps! So far I have not liked any of the new lamps!

The thrift store finds people are posting are more exciting than this lineup. It's like the design team suddenly realized they had a deadline looming, and they had to come up with something in a hurry.

"Oh crap, I completely forgot. What are we gonna do for the anniversary lamps?"

"Paint the base gold and call it limited."

Haaaahaaaa Rob, sad but true......not really funny, but your thrift store commentary was awesome!!!  And I luv the "shrinky dink" terminology.  I think LL's design team need to all be sent to other jobs (don't want to say fired, i'm a big believer in Karma, lol) and they need to bring in fresh people.  Or not even.  Why can't they come on OG which is the biggest online lava site for collectors and get some ideas from the members and then hand them to their design team??  Oh wait, that would make too much sense, or they are afraid of patent right and copyright stuff.  Like someone on here mentions a design, they use it, and the next thing you know, there is an issue.  I'm not saying that WOULD happen, but maybe that's why they can't go that route.  OR, MAYBE they just don't realize how LAME these designs really are...???  hum???

So is there gonna be 2 more 50th lamps? If so I wonder what the HELL that's gonna be?...LOL. Like Rob said trift store finds are more exciting! I think we are all better off buying vintage lamps on ebay and trift stores, garage sales, etc. What I don't understand is why LL isn't doing a clear/red or a blue/white for their 50th lamps???!!!

Today, I love how they replied to Jim that they'd pass along his request for bigger lamps to their "product development team." Seriously? The thought of bigger lamps never even crossed their minds? Carol's point is well taken - all they had to do was spend a few hours here for a wealth of ideas.

We want BIGGER lamps!!!....LOL

They have announced nine "new" lamps thus far and only the two announced 50th anniversary lamps are 32 ounce or larger. Of the remaining seven, five are 14.5" tall lamps (assumed to be 20 ounce). The remaining two items are complete turds - a 10" tall "blizzard" lamp and an even shittier disco ball.

Tim - I suspect a Grande will be added for the 50th. They have essentially indicated such via their shoddy website design. The main lamp shown on their 50th Anniversary Lamps page is a Grande, and then you have the option to select the 32 ounce or 52 ounce for purchase. http://lavalamp.com/50th-anniversary-lamps-2.

Not sure what they intend to offer to complete the 50th lineup, as I am not sure what they're thinking thus far. The 32 ounce lamp utilizes the stock 32 ounce base with the embossed 50th Anniversary graphic. The 52 ounce is shaped like an Aristocrat, but lacks pinholes. If you want to tip your cap to your heritage, why not make it a true Aristocrat with pinholes. Therein lies my confusion. Maybe a Century or a Wizard? They should really do both though.  Should be a five lamp lineup (with more color options, maybe even go old school and sell the base/cap and globe separately like they did for awhile with US production). Lineup should have been - 32 ounce, Century, Aristocrat, Wizard and Grande.

Surfing lamp update!

Lets put it this way I'm not even going to take a pic of it. The globe was somewhat cloudy (amazing too considering their warehouse is only like 30 minutes away from me), the base and cap are blah. Going to dump it and make the globe into a glitter lamp.

Has anyone ordered their heritage grandes from spencers online? I should be getting my heritage pink grande Monday and I'm really hoping that its not cloudy when it arrives. The shipping was fedex to USPS. And the funny thing is that it shipped from Ohio to New Berlin Wisconsin, soooo they shipped it past my location up north just to ship it back down to my area. That makes a whole lot of sense.

I avoid shipping China-made Lava Lite if at all possible. The only time I had one shipped it came cloudy, and couple that with horror stories from others who had lamps shipped and I just don't even waste my time. I road tripped with Patrick to pick up our Heritage lamps in person at HQ. I have reached out to Susan with a similar request on the 50th anniversary lamps. Spencers estimated Christmas until they got anything new from Lava Lite and I don't want to wait that long. Its an easy enough drive to HQ that I may as well save on shipping and guarantee myself a crystal globe. Also gives me a chance to beg and plead for some of the odds and ends and prototypes.
