since i'm still pretty new here, i thought i'd show off some of the slipper orchids i like to grow.
the first is Paphiopedilum (or Paph) chamberlainianum (well, depending which taxonomist you ask, it's either Paph chamberlainianum or Paph victoria-reginae), a species from indonesia .
the second is a hybrid called Paph Lynleigh Koopowitz. one of the parents smells of raspberries. sometimes they are fragrant but not always. this time it is....

Nice work. I have been thinking about trying to grow an orchid. I have 2 Bonsai trees that I am working on.
The first is a Chinese Elm and I have had it about 9 months. The second is a Schefflera and I have had it for 2 years. I repotted both this spring. A major victory for me since most plants die when I touch them. :)
