I just bought a Clearview lamp on Amazon with "orchid" color base and wax. Here is the listing.

I've never heard of this color before and Google isn't showing anything. Does anyone have some real life pictures of what this is gonna look like?

Purple by any other name is still purple! I ordered one of these from Amazon and it arrived with a dented top cap. So I returned it for a replacement and got the exact same dents on the cap!! I returned the second and got a refund. Make sure you check yours over carefully!
It would help immensely if Lava Lite would post actual pictures of their lamps instead of renderings. The colors are usually way off!
How pale is it? The rendering looks quite pale.

It's a fairly deep & dark purple but it looks lighter once it starts flowing because more light goes through it.
Yes, I got a "midnight blue" clearview 20oz lava lamp from Ross, and the box showed almost the same purple here but a shade darker, and when I opened it, it was literally a dark blue. Not even a hint of purple. Of course, I loved the color and was glad it wasn't a pale purple. But, the color on the box does not even come close to matching the actual lamp color. I wish I could upload a picture of the packaging for comparison..
I will say, the 20oz clearviews are actually my second favorite lava lamp that they sell these days (aside from the Grande). They have very decent flow, and have enough wax in them. They are the only 20oz lamp style I would buy.
I prefer the earlier larger Clearview models, especially the Neon Yellow lamp.
I have a midnight blue. I also like mine a lot, but you are certainly correct when you say that the color on the box (And in the online renderings.) is not at all what it really is like.
