Possible way to make a glitter lamp?

I noticed on the bottom of one of my china lamps it says "contains Sodium Nitrate". The lamp seems to flow a lot like a regular lava world glitter lamp. I did a search for sodium nitrate and nothing comes up. Since I dont think anyone has come up with a home made solution to glitter lamps I thought I would share this find. I dont know anything about this stuff so maybe one of you guys can experiment with the stuff and find out how to make glitter lamps.
