To the best of my knowledge, no. This forum is about as close as you're going to get. :)

You can try your local library because sometimes they have like archives sections and older publications, but other then that like Erin said, I know of none.

Although these books aren't totally devoted to lava lamps, this is what I found:

RELATED INFORMATION: Edward Craven Walker Biography   from The Great Idea Finder  History of Household Items    from The Great Idea Finder

ON THE BOOKSHELF:          Cocktail Shakers, Lava Lamps, and Tupperware: A Celebration of ...     by Wayne Hemingway, Keith Stephenson / Paperback: 144 pages / Rockport     Publishers (2004)     The book combines hip graphic treatments with a level of ironic kitschness     that reflects the products featured. Internationally acclaimed pop-cultural     design aficionado Wayne Hemingway adds his uniquely witty commentary, as a     collector and champion of mass-produced interior design.

I don't believe the biography is a publication but more of a web page.

This is a very well documented site devoted to lava lamp history.  It is the work of a former Oozinggoo moderator and is an excellent resource.

Follow the gallery links on that page, at the top, for more information.

Wow, I saw this a while ago but never got a chance to REALLY look at it.  Did you see their quality control back then?  Sad that probably not many products have that going for them any more.......

Very cool everyone!!

Its a long shot and to be honest perhaps a pipe dream but I would like to make a publication (i.e. small ebook) on lava lamps - something like a reference guide by myself but with a LOT of input from OG.

Don't expect anything soon its just a idea and I am quite busy currently.

I have also been looking for books on lava lamps - there isent really much if anything out there - the best is a collective amount of information on the internet as web-sights and forums.
