Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

This turned up yesterday, the postman was standing at my door with it and just said "Oh". Looks like its taken quite a battering.

Will post more pics when I open it up.

Worst thing was it was a red metallic astro, not like something from a shop that can just be replaced. It was sent by next day special delivery but it still took over a week to arrive.

I'm told that the metallic wax can work in just water so I might try to get the block of wax out and put it in an empty telstar bottle I have. Might as well give it a shot I guess.

Good news it I have managed to get another of the same, if the next one turns up like that I will be so pissed.
Havent looked inside yet but the box looks small, I will open it soon and see.
Just had a look, the bottle was crushed, will post some pics later. The fluid is very heavy and smelles like propain so I expect I will have trouble getting it going again. Might do what you did Bohdan and add some of the wax to another lamp to change the flow.
Whoever packed it did a shit job I must say. Done right, that bottle should NOT have broken. Especially such a small bottle.
That's gotta Suck!
All the more annoying that it should happen to a rare red Metallic Astro.
Yeah, This one was cheap. Also got the other person to end the listing early.

By the way, if anyone has any ideas for what I can do with the wax let me know.
Hhmm, I have a few metallic purple bottles so I might do what you have done above because it looks great then I will have the correct fluid to maybe make a red metallic telstar or astro bottle, thanks Bohdan.
Never messed with the wax and fluid before so I will have to try not to mess it up.
That did cross my mind too
This was my fail....FedEx guy ran away from the door faster than normal when he "dropped" this one off....
