So in my quest for knowledge (since I have made no finds lately) to find the perfect way easily to remove the bottle cap using a BOTTLE CAP REMOVER (which we always say is a no no) I found the answer. Some of us know you can do it with a bottle cap remover and still not ruin it. Just takes practice.
It's so simple and easy and I found the answer on many beer forums for people who like to collect the bottle caps.
Simply place a quarter over the bottle cap and slowly work around the edge pulling up as you go with the bottle cap remover. Of course one has to hold the quarter in place while you do it so it does not slide out of position.
I tested it tonight on some bottles of gerstel and angry orchard and it worked each and every time
Easy peasy.
Enjoy your 4th everyone!!!!

That is a great tip! I usually just go around lifting ever so slightly multiple times until it is loose enough to come off. This sounds much more effective.
I would still be careful not to bend the sides out too much so that crimping it back in place goes easier.
Keith I did it the same way you did with good success but the quarter tip just makes it so much better if you are picky about the caps like I am.
Yes, one should never bend the sides out to much regardless of technique. Just enough for the cap to come off.
Cheers to those beer forum peeps :)
