USA giant problem solved

I had had the giant on a china grande base I didnt notice that the china base was a bit different. The bulb Is not up as high on the china base so it wasnt heating 100%. I put the giant back on the original base and the flow is great! I bought a bulb extender for the china base so I can swap bases if I want. The extener is plastic is that ok to use or will it get too hot?
