I've always wanted one of the rocket lava lamps and managed to find one on Craigslist. WhooHOO! Now I have eight lamps (a couple of centuries and a couple of normal-sized lamps, plus a glitter tube and a small glitter). My sister had one when I was younger and I was always fascinated by it.

Hi ... your name caught my attention since I have spent many excellent weekends at the Isthmus of Catalina isle at the Buccaneer Days weekend in October each year.

Hi Ray, I have always wanted to do Buccaneer Days at the Isthmus on Catalina - but have been working at the JazzTrax fest at Avalon. Now that I don't do that anymore perhaps it is time for me to make the scene on the other side of the Island. I love Catalina, it's a great place with great people.

Thanks for the welcome, Mark! :)

Boy with the major earthquake we just had in Los Angeles, I am REALLY lucky I didn't lose any lamps - several fell - and I think I'm going to try to take a picture of the severe dent in my wood floor caused by the top of one of my regular-sized globes as it toppled over and HIT THE FLOOR. Urgh. Would have been a huge mess had the glass broken. I think it's a miracle as it fell from six feet above the floor onto it's head. =8O
