This is the bottle holder for the huge "Old Grand-Dad" whiskey bottle I bought today. I'm going to incorporate this into the base I'm making of polished brass (hopefully)... can't decide if I'm going to put the base in this wooden holder or use this on the top of the base to hold the bottle... I welcome ideas...

i went to bevmo today and i think they thought i was nuts...grabbing bottles off the shelf and saying to hubby things like "wow this would be awesome with green lava" and paying no mind to the to the liquor inside it lol
I have that mini-keg beer can. You might could do something with that. Like a distillery barrel or a mash pot...
I'll bring it when I come down after Thanksgiving.
I have a half formed plan or a polished brass cylindrical base with three stainless steel bands around it so that it looks like a distilling drum.
My preference would be to have this on top of the base so its more tightly linked in with the bottle. Problem will be finding a base whose lines will work with this configuration so that it doesn't look like you have a sphere on top of cube on top of a pyramid (if you know what I mean).
