manufacturer: Lava Manufacturing Corporation
first production: late 60s?
comments: Do all the different Planter models have you confused? Here's a tip:
The Decorator (shown here) is basically an Aristocrat with a tray.
The Enchantress Planter is basically a Midnight-type lamp with a tray.
The Elegant is, well, its own animal - it's got that streamlined globe.
This is a new picture. The previous pic showed a lamp sans flowers. (The planters are worth a lot more if they still have their original bouquet without fading.) However, and I'm not intentionally trying to confuse you, the Enchantress Planter and the Elegant came from the factory with their own flowers. The Decorator, as pictured, came without an arrangement and left the purchaser to do the "decorating." See the next few pics for the other planter styles.
p.s. I'm not sure why that cap is solid gold. Maybe it was a replacement, or did the manufacturer sell them this way too? Jonas Goo tells me that Lava Simplex did indeed sell some of the squiggle lamps with solid gold caps. Is there anything that Jonas Goo doesn't know?
