Thanks so much! The little crystal ball one is actually a resin or lucite sphere that screws into the base. There are a bunch of different colored bulbs that blink randomly and reflect off of the bubbles in the globe. I have no idea who made it.
The only magazine that had any of my collection worth mentioning is the Flea Market Finds and Collectibles (I forget the issue and date, but it comes up on eBay when you do lava lamp searches). It only has some of the more common lava lamp pics in it. None of the really rare ones or any glitters!
As far as the coffee table book, I am still hoping to get some help from the more knowledgable members on OozingGoo. I would also like to get some high resolution photos of the catalogues, ads and lamps that I am missing from my collection!
Wow - these are gorgeous Byrin'! I especially love the little one with a crystal ball looking thing on the top. What is it? (Who made it, etc?) You have such wonderful taste and such a great collection. Was there more than one magazine that carried photos of your collection? If so, which ones were they (names and dates please - when you get a chance of course). Or even better yet, when are you finishing that coffee table book. My coffee table is cold, naked and shivering - waiting!
Thanks for all your postings - I am sure everyone else enjoys them almost as much as me!
