Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

This one was hard to photograph. With the flash on, the lamp looks really nice, but it's not how the lamp truly looks. It's not as vibrant as I'd hoped and there are numerous flaws in the paint job. The globe/liquid doesn't appear as clear due to the not-so-great spray job.

So, I photographed it without the flash. Like the Rainbow Grande, the actual colors on the lamp aren't like the box, and there is no red on the lamp, period.

The flow is not good. And if history repeats itself, this lamp will get gunk in the coil in a matter of weeks. If it does that before the 30 days, I will return it.

That would be easier - I agree!

  • You know after seeing some of the cool custom lamps on this site, I thought I might try and piecemeal one together by either painting or buying a white base and top and finding a rainbow globe of the right size. Might be easier than finding one in decent condition.

Good luck! There are many variants that have this rainbow spray effect on the globes. Most of them tend to be 32oz. and 20 oz. globes. But not all.

Thank you for taking the time to let me know.  I'll keep an eye out for one.

I don't know that it had a name. I just know at the time, the 52oz. lamps were called "Premier". And the rainbow effect was spray painted on.

Bummer..that's what I was afraid someone was going to say.  I will continue to look on eBay.  Do you know what they actually called it or what model number it was?

I don't believe they carry this one anymore. This pic was from five years ago. Your best bet will be eBay.

Hi everyone!  I'm new to this group and recently got back into collecting lamps.  I absolutely love this lamp and have the perfect spot for it.  I went to our local Spencer's to see if they had it in stock and they did not.  Does anyone know if it's going to be re-stocked as an in store item or are they discontinuing it?  Any ideas of where else to get one of these in the meantime?

I got one about a month and I like it! I think the globe colors are real good (at least on the one I got). The flow is ok but nothing to jump for joy about of course. Over all I am happy with the lamp for a 52z China lamp.

The pink black on that one camera shot Erin does look yummy!!!  If I can get my hands on some decent empty 52's I may attempt a black/pink.  I do have an empty 32 oz, but was thinking of doing a kirk glitter in that for a silver wizzie base that I have.....I haven't really bought much of LL either.  The last lamp I bought new was my black/orange Halloween lamp which was for my black/orange goo kit but just got super busy so didn't get to do the transplant.  The globe also is full of stars for a black/orange so I may just wait it out and leave the original alone until I can get a decent 52 oz globe.
