Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I bought this Astro Lite recently and have began work restoring it. The lamp was in really rough shape, but the exterior of it looks so much better after some extensive cleaning and polishing. The wax is sticking and the the master fluid is cloudy but it runs. I've never had a consort type globe with original fluid that ran. I'm going to run it several times before opening it to see if it improves on its own before I mess with it.

I traded one of these and I really wish I hadn't!

Desirable rarity.

There are 2 brass bolts on the front that have hex nuts on the inside and spacers to raise the spiral from the base about half an inch.

Amazing work on polishing the brass spiral accent, how is it attached to the base exactly with screws from the inside?
