well most of it does settle at the bottom, I put quite a lot of powder in there. Also I had to filter it several times as a lot of the powder ends up in the fluid instead of the wax but once cleared it stays clear. It doesnt seem to work with all kinds of wax though or at least theres different effect and sometimes it changes drasticaly over time. what worked best so far was 90's haggerty und crestworth wax.
Hmm. It doesn't eventually settle and clump up at the bottom?
When I use mica powder I first mix the powder with a small abount of wax so it becomes sort of a paste and the I put the paste back in the lamp. this way it doesnt clump together and mixes in quite well.
I'm going to try using some oleic acid (may need to make ammonium oleate soap) as a surfactant for some mica to see if it helps prevent it from clumping (or helps it recirculate easier). Gotta see if it binds with the paraffin/PERC/LP first.
it's wax from an old crestworth astro (originaly orange) with gold powder.
Is this a homebrew mix? It looks SHINY. Looks great.
Nice one, Arne!
