I agree with you on this.
About the new blue/red astro, it seems that Mathmos has changed their formula,, this one has a mixed behavior of Mathmos and lavaworld, as the bubbles tend to stay on top a bit more than usual Mathmos ones. Is it a "youth" behavior? I don't know yet,, I'll wait the 6 or 7 courses to let the wax to fully be and see what it'll become.
