I really like this clock too, the clock is made by Schmid-Schrlenker in W. Germany. It is an 8 day clock, so its a pain having to remember to wind it every week.  When I got the clock it was non working, so I took it apart gave it a good cleaning and oiled it with clock oil- runs like new now.  Its pretty unusual looking with the pedestal base and acylic body- looks like the clock works is floating.  It ticks pretty loud and the pendulum swings fast so you always know its running.  I haven't found much info about this clock on the web, and so far I haven't seen another one like it.
