Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Green felt on bottom and DEC 1972 sticker inside of cap. The one will need some work, but I'm happy to have this rare lamp. Per Jonas, in the 1970s part of the Lava Lite history: "The Commander: A short-lived early-70s series. No details are known, save that it was produced after the switch from orange to red lava (see below). A Starlight Aristocrat with a black base and cap." However, the color of this lamp is yellow / orange.

I took a risk tonight and filtered both the lava and the liquid and cleaned out the globe and coil. It's slowly settling back together (filtered both lava and liquid while hot), but I don't know how it will end up. There was a lot of gunk in the bottom of the lamp. Now it's nice and clean - fingers crossed that it still flows! I have some leftover fluid from my model 101, so I'm hoping I can top this one off.

Hard to know yet. Only ran it once. It's a little cloudy. I'll keep you posted and put up a pic of the lamp when off so you can see the color combination.

I stand corrected! Must have been during the transition. You own the one and only known example! Flow good?
