Thank you Marley! It is a beast of a build on that Firefly. I read that another member lucked out and the glue had dry rotted or something, his popped right open. Compressed air will get rid of the lint for ya, wish we could windex the glass though, clean the decade of film from the glass, haha!
I liked that after I saw it in pictures Keith! A nice purple hue outside, cold Winter nights! The hourglass is from Ross, couldn't pass it up! I mentioned that large timer too, it came from Ross as well and will need to get its picture taken with a large lamp, it is a HUGE timer! No frame on it, would like to build one though as it gets rather top heavy when you flip it and could be easy to knock over and shatter if not careful.
Beautiful! Love the twilight outside.
Is the hourglass from Ross? I saw some there and was tempted lol.
Same problem with my green Firefly here too, Nick. They gather a bit of dust and I'm also fearful of trying to remove the top. Your tribute is great, love the hourglass.
I agree, Jonas! I wish I was able to open mine up to clean the globe a little bit. Has a slight lint coating that wont clear up with compressed air. For the life of me I can't get the top cap to separate from the lens section, I fear it will crack. Maybe after it has been on all day and warmed up the glue will loosen a bit...
The Firefly is an underappreciated lamp.
Thank you Pete! Had them going for Bowie, as you know...
Blue, blue, electric blue
That's the colour of my room
I will need to get a picture of my 2-hour timer, it is a sight to behold. Like a Grande Lava Lamp compared to a 52oz!
Great photo and colour combo Nick... love your sand timer.
