Get it flowing but not overheating by using an inline dimmer to dim the light's heat See if that does cause it to go away. Eventually the flowing wax will remove some or most of the stuff stuck to the inside of the globe. If your goo seems grainny this will also clear up. I'd run it for about 4 hours after it starts flowwing on low heat.
