Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

The first lamp had the all-too-common problem of the black leeching into the (originally) clear liquid, so red food coloring took care of that one. The second lamp had never cleared to my liking, and the wax was sluggish as well. For that one, I removed the liquid & saved it for another project. I replaced it with the purple liquid from an old purple/yellow with ridiculously foamy wax that had always looked like crap. Then, it took a whole lot of glycerine to finally get the wax moving, but I was ultimately successful.

Wow, and I just threw away some blue original vintage LL liquid.  Never thought to save it somewhere for future projects, but I already have 2 blue liquid/white lava lamps and a blue clear, soooo don't think i'd be needing it anytime soon.

They look awesome by the way!!!

Todd - yeah that's an old platinum sales award from my days in radio. (Cassettes may be gone now but, remember, only analog is real. Viva vinyl!)

Thanks Keith - I never understood why LL didn't pursue more color combinations with black wax back in their heyday.

I see analog magnetic media for sound reproduction...

Cassette, if I remember correctly....
