See, that's why I thought too but if I turned it down even the slightest, I only got grape sized blobs. And now, that it's fixed, it never overheats and I've been running it the same temp, maybe a little hotter.

Yea, I mean cause until this point the lamp is perfect. But then only recently it all connects back together, before it never would and I would either have to let it cool for like 10 or 20 mins or I would have to take it off and swirl it. I think it is sticking to the very bottom a little, right in the center, and this is aiding it to reconnect since the lava has something to grab on to. I might contact her, not looking for a replacement, but to try to make her aware that this is happening. She can send a replacement if she wants, but I really dont need it.

This is exactly how my single-coiled pink would look when disconnected. Mine though didnt flow normally. Yours seems to flow fine and cycle through the different flow patterns this lamp shows but for some reason it suddenly disconnects from the coil. To me, this is because theres no center coil for the wax to hold on to. Mine would shoot peas for a whole day until it would randomly disconnect and that would be it, I would have to shut it off and let it cool for 10 min until the wax came back down then i swirled the globe clockwise and counterclockwise on a flat surface (table) without shaking it until it all combined again with the coil.

I would contact susan at LL with this exact picture, tell her your lamp seems to flow fine but randomly it has these disconnects. She shouldnt have a problem replacing it for you, maybe the next one doesnt do it but i think its likely that it will without another coil for the wax to stick to in the center.
