Am about to try this also ! , been having an issue getting my century hot enough , another member showed me this pic . That bulb is a 40 w a 15 bulb ?

Very neat idea. Have you tried a clear 40w without the foil? The older century bases didnt come with a ring like the newer 90's ones. I tried fitting one in before and couldnt screw the bulb all the way in.
