That's a phenomenal idea. My only question is wouldn't the heating element melt the LED?

Great idea - you might like to patent this!
It'd be great to be able to control the colour of the led too - you could phase it through the spectrum with a programmable speed setting, and "freeze" it when it gets to a colour you really like.
