Thanks Erin!  Dr. What-- I did not use clear coat.  They are vinyl so I think they will hold but time will tell as we cycle the lamp.  Having a few cycles under our belt they seem to be holding up nice.

Nice job, did you add clear coat to the base so the decals won't peal off from the heat?

Hi again Erin, thanks!  We used vinyl decals and cut them and placed where we liked.  Bought them online.
