Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Does anyone know what this is or how to fix it. The orange liquid is supposed to bubble up and back down again when the light is on and generates heat. However I switched it on for the first time in 10 years and it worked for 20 minutes then stopped, so I think the liquid is exhausted in some way. I think it dates from the 60s and I bought in a flea market around 1990

Hi Jonas,

I bought it in Scotland in about 1990 and I currently  live in London.  I believe it is French.  I managed to get it working again based on a tip from Autumn on this forum.  It just needed a gentle shake.

Bought in the USA? EXTREMELY rare here.

Your lamp is defective, better just send it to me and be done with it! (Kidding...) Seriously, what wattage of bulb do you have in it? And some of these need to be briefly upended before they really go to town.
