5th run with 75w halogen. Dropped the bulb bracket, dimmed to about 60%. Seems to create bubbles but flow is improving.

I think that a gookit mixture might run nice on the halogen, I think I am just being a wussy in cranking it up, haha. If the cap can be removed I do believe I see evidence that there is an opening under there but it could judt be a glass nipple that was used to pinch it closed. Would be sweet as a clear masterfluid lamp as the height of the globe really cuts into light loss towards the top.
BUT.....there ARE things that can eat glue.....like, um, say my fav chem of choice....acetone!!! Hey, if that stuff can eat your fake plastic nail tips off, that can do a number on glue. You would just have to figure out how to get it under that lid to actually work on the glue. Not like you can soak it, it's too big. Also Vox, goo kits require more heat, and with not being able to use a regular bulb and the halogen risking cracking the globe, that presents a whole new problem, that would be a mod project for sure!!! Save that one for a boring snowy cold winter's day, lololol!!!!!
nice!
I have TILTED it and can see that under the cap it looks like the glass bends into an opening like a pop bottle. That aluminum cap is seriously glued on tight though.
I bet there is a way to open that Vox.......one has to be MacGyver!!1
That is what I am thinking Carol. It went dark for years after it encountered my sister in-law, haha. Would be a cool goo project but the thing can't be opened without a hammer, so I have heard.
you might have to "break" the lava in again Vox since it sat so long.
.
It seems to get better each run! I just hope it gets sick of blowing bubbles.
aaaaahaaa now you're finally getting somewhere Vox!!!!! Looks good!!! Luv the color combo!!!
