Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Here are my two planters - the Elegant (L) and the Enchantress (R). The flowers on the Enchantress planter are original, the flowers on the Elegant are not, and were constructed by me.

Jonas tells me that the Elegant planter was not really named Elegant, but rather the ad for them had the word 'Elegant' on it, so people assumed that's what it was called. So technically, these are both Enchantress Planters...with one just being a slim version.

I got the fake flowers for the Elegant from a home decor store and some from JoAnn's. I just took one of the thick stems from one of the sprays and cut it so that it was the same size around as the flower ring on my Enchantress. From there, I used tiny zip ties to fasten the flower pieces to the ring. It's not easy to do, but I knew I couldn't use hot glue - it would melt.

Lookin' good! Yeah, back in the early days of OG when we were all still IDing rare lamp names, *I* assumed the lamp was called the "Elegant", so I told everyone here that's what it was. And, of course, it stuck. I'm glad it stayed, because it helps tell them apart in discussions, and it's an apt name for them.

I was pretty pleased with how my flower ring turned out. Lots and lots of tiny zip ties! :)

Thanks Weebo and Waggs. I love them both. Wish I had the original flowers for the Elegant. Some day...
