how close is the bulb to the base?  a photo would help.  it it's more than 1/2" it may not be getting hot enough.  also make sure you are using 100w bulbs.  last, what is the temperature in the room just to rule that out?

My blue and yellow as soon as I turn it on the lava just comes up right away with coil. I've been running it and coil gets back to place but I can't get lava to flow. Just stays down at bottom. I've noticed that my red lamp has 2 coils? Also noticed that the red also has more lava. What can I do to make the lamp flow????
