Nordic Consort
This is the only example of this lamp I've ever seen. The base is black plastic, and the metal parts are polished aluminum. There are two other varieties: one with a metal base, and the other with a marbled base.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was built this way. I have seen one other chrome Consort base, that one had a flat-topped, thick square black stone base. Standard Consorts were made early-on with a wood base, a cylindrical tube stem and a round metal disk at the base; later ones were plastic like this, with the 'hourglass' stem with flared ends. This is one rare lamp! I have a vague memory of seeing a chrome or silver Consort in a wholesale catalog on eBay many years ago, noted as a "Nordic".

The polished metal is a factory finish. You can see very fine machining marke in the base.

we have one of those plastic base ones.....the base is woodgrain plastic/it almost looks like yours is black woodgrain....could someone have polished the metal parts?
