How can i photo chrome lamps to show the shiny appearance - my shots always look dark?

Your flash should bring out the chrome look. If you don't have flash or your flash isn't working properly, have someone shine some type of light sorce on your lamp while taking the picture. E.g. flashlight or table lamp. Some type of candlelight placed around the base of the lamp will give it a nice lighting effect as well.
