The left is what the lamp really looks like when running. The right is how it photographs when I'm using the flash on my camera. They really should consider a pink/black, I think. I also think Lava Lite should have me photograph their lamps in exchange for free product. :)
It's a cool lamp, but really dark. I hope it stays in good shape - as of right now, no lava sticking or crap in the coil. I'll keep everyone updated!
UPDATE: Lava stuck around bottom, quite badly. I attempted a dump and re-do, but made it worse. This one is JUNKED!

I'd say at least half of all new lamps I've bought have this issue.
L.L.'s current wax forumla is so different than in years past. I've had similar sticking in some of mine too.
The lamp does cast that yellow tone. I've seen in on other globes before, esp dark ones and the ones with colored liquid. I think you're right about it being from the bend in the globe.
I guess it could just be incandescent light... Maybe it collects at that spot due to the way the glass bends and refracts it.
Yes, a pink black would be cool, would definitely pick one up.
I have noticed a similar yellow hue on a 90's wizard of mine, right at the spot where the glass bends back inward going up. Is this just a color artifact in your photo or does your lamp cast that yellow tone Erin? Wonder what it is, if so.
I agree on the pink black. I made a pink and black grande refill a month or so ago. I ended up re-doing it though because I could not get the pink I was hoping to achieve.
