Got the idea to put some lighting gels into my wiz base, so the base would be illuminated with a color, instead of white. It looks a lot deeper and redder in person. :)

Carol, I've got a clear Hot Rocks (I think) glitter that I should try that on. That thing is so bright it will hurt your eyes!
I'm going to try that tonight for Friday Flow :)
Another great experiment Keith!!!!!
Glad to know that works! I've thought about something like that over the years but never tried it. I think using a gel between the base and globe would work just fine with white wax/clear fluid.
checked tonight, no sign of any melting or damage to the gel :)
Haze. thanks for mentioning the local music shops!! I would have never thought of that. I have a small ma and pop music store not far from me that i'll try to see if I can get them there.
Alex - Not the way I have done it. If I look down, I can see some red on mine, but it does not color the globe in any way.
That being said, you could probably add a layer between the bulb and the globe that would do just that.
@alex
I dont see what it wouldn't work. Old Gemlites bottles used to have a film (I assume similar to this) that had 5 rows of color stuck on the bottom of the bottle. I assume it was glued to the bottle? but with what who knows.
yeah, the ones I got came in 9 inch squares. I just cut them in half, and wrapped the inside of the base. No tape, no glue, no nothing. Had it on for 8 hours last night, I'll check to make sure they didn't melt when I get home from work tonight.
