How to use 12v DC LEDs in Fantasia fiber optic lamps

Turbo charge your Fantasia lamp. For those of you lucky enough to have a Fantasia fiber optic lamp you have probably wished it was brighter. The small incandescent bulbs are only so bright and LED bulbs usually flicker and aren't very bright either. That is because these lamps use 12v AC for the bulb socket. Some LEDs will work on AC current, but to simply put it AC current only provides half the power as DC due to the differences in the way the two current types work. To get the most out of…See More

Autumn replied to Joey Williams's discussion Prototype Chester the Jester Icon?
"These were made by Graffix. Graffix used to make ceramic hookas/bongs and were selected by Lava Lite back in the day to make the Icon series. The one pictured looks like one of the early prototypes used as a proof of concept. They probably made…"

I was able to fix the bubbles in mine using the procedure in this post:

This worked perfectly for me!

I have a way. You run the lamp once. as it cools down the wax will solidify, if you time it right the wax will be solid inside and goey outside and on the top where most of the bubbles are. Well get the globe and twirl it one way then quickly turn the other way and keep going that way. Repeat this multiple times. You will notice the top of the bubbles pop or the top gets pulled off. Now start up your lamp and see how it is. There will be less bubbles. Do this again and again. If they come back do it more, eventualy they stay gone. Hope this helps you

It is crucial not to shake the wax, just get it to flow on the bottom to get the bubbles to consolidate. I also was able, once they consolidated into just a few large bubbles, to reach down and pop them with a stainless steel skewer to hasten the process.

Hi Autumn, from across the pond... sorry to trouble you, but that old "for sale" thread reminded me that you once showed a Glitter Graphic - I'm a private collector and would love to find some! Please advise if you can help? Many thanks, and kind regards, Andy

Sorry, but I dropped the project a long time ago. The there are several different formula on this site you can experiment with though. If you have any questions you can send me a private message. http://www.oozinggoo.com/howto.html

If you emailed me back you used the wrong email because I never got it. I still have stuff for sale, but I have not been motivated to sell anything because I am lazy.
