Hi Bob. Welcome to Oozing Goo. I hope you get the answers you're looking for. I can tell you that Mathmos (UK made) are a very good make but not widely available in the States. Earlier model Lava Lites are pretty good as well like the Century model or Carlisle. Some are quite scarse and very collectible.
