lol, I've been screwing with my goo kit for 3 days now. I experimented with both salt and surfactant. Once you put in the goo kit recommended surfactant, I've had no luck with adding more, makes the lava runny (streams instead of stretchy balls) and I've had to siphon back out and replace with distilled. The salt controlls how floaty the lava is. if you have lava above the bottom rim when hot and just a few balls up near the top then you dont have the density of the fluid right. the more salt, the more upward motion. there is (probably) no magic number, just adjust for flow happiness. more soap = runny streams or fast moving little balls, less soap = slower, bigger balls. All of this is in the lava recipes, check out the retro basic and have fun :D the recipe says adjust once an hour, because it is all self balancing and need time to do its thing.
Hi Brian, welcome! Were you the guy last night trying to work with a goo kit on a Grande? I had a similar problem, try pickling salt, 1 tsp at a time, till you get action. Goo kit doesnt say anything about this but I had to work with mine on my grande, I'm still working on the balance :)
