My First Lava Lamp was:
I've had many of the cheap clone lamps but decided it was time to hunt down a true piece of Lava Decor. Hence my purchase of a White Mathmos Jet with Clear Liquid & Red Lava.
I'm thinking it was a bargain at £10 from a Free-Ads website, when similar ones are selling on eBay for up to £50.

I've got a white Jet with red wax too. Very classic styling and smart too. Mine cost me over 20 quid!
