"100% yes...they can and have cracked or exploded. I have installed Claude's capping system onto mine as a precaution...and I still will never start it on full power. I want to keep the thermal stress on the glass to a minimum."

"Yea they're awesome to watch.   They have a grand model too which is about 2 feet tall. Those have some decent multi flow at times too.  "

"Yes they take about 8 to 10 hours to start flowing.  For optimal flow a few days until you get the dimmer tuned just right.   I also never warm mine up on full power because of the risk of cracking the globe. So it usually takes mine…"
