ATTN Imperial Owners: sorta-cheapo GE bulbs on eBay
1 Reply

As I've recently learned, finding 150-watt R40 floodlight bulbs can be a bit tricky.  Of course, bulbman.com has 'em, for about $11 each (20K-hour rated, which is swell), but just in case anybody…Continue

De-crudding China goo?

So I've got this clear/red 2005 52-oz. China lamp that I picked up during an episode of poor eBay impulse control.  I'm not too proud of it, but I'm not ashamed of it either; the flow is actually…Continue

Something Interesting About Me:
"Vell, MJM's chust zis guy, you know?" -- my brain care specialist.

Arcane H²G² allusions aside: Born in the Nixon era with a Y chromosome. American. Never convicted of a felony. Radical atheist (to borrow DNA's definition thereof, which is roughly: "I've thought about it a lot, and I really mean it, so please stop trying to talk me out of it, thanks"), Dudeist Priest, Discordian, Pastafarian, Invisible Pink Unicorn adherent, and all-around Master of the Stoogely Arts and occasional Intrepid Traveler. Card-carrying member of the ACLU, although I've never seen any ACLU discounts offered anywhere. Not so much a lava "collector" as an "accumulator and tinkerer."
Where I Live:
New England (in The Land Beside the Long Tidal River--go ahead, Google it, you know you want to)
My First Lava Lamp was:
Got a very nice purple/white 32 oz. Midnight (Spencer's custom program) in '86 or '87, which was perfect for a college-bound lad such as myself. That lamp (and Electric Ladyland -- Side Three in particular) got me through some very interesting, sometimes difficult, and not-at-all-legal times for a small handful of years. And then (familiar story, I'm sure) some knucklehead -- not me, some other knucklehead -- knocked it off my desk and it shattered. That was a sad day. Carried the base around through maybe a dozen moves before tossing it out, which I now regret, because a spare Midnight base is always nice to have, no? Yes.
My Collection Includes this many Lava Lamps:
70-something ... I'll need to muster them up for a headcount soon
My Favorite Lava Lamp is:
Even though I haven't taken possession of it yet, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say "my Imperial." Yeah, that's probably a safe assumption.

UPDATE: Yeah. Oh, yeah.

Welcome to OG - good to see another 42 year old in the house - class of '87 rocks!  My ACLU card gets me free... dirty looks from wacko rightwingers, erm, my parents.
