my first lite was red and clear. it broke when my big dog knocked it off my endtable. I was fascinated with it and have owned a dozen more of all colors. I bought my first one in the 1970s

Did you say you had bought 3 new lava lamps but they don't flow very well? Are they lava world/lava lite lamps? Sadly if they are, you'll find the quality of manufacture of these lamps has deteriorated somewhat in the past few years. If they don't give satisfaction I would take them back and ask for replacements. Make sure you have tested them thoroughly first, and given them plenty of time to heat up. They should be flowing at room temperature after a couple of hours easily.
