Although not recommended to run lamps for that long, once in a while won't do any harm. you may want to try this way. As long as you don't run them for 24 hours too often! This could 'kill' the lava.

My friend Paul says, try running your lamp continuously for 8 hours per day, every day for a week. See if there is any improvement after then.

Hi, i can see your problem and you've tried your best with the wax. I would have a word with Bohdan who's always willing to help, Astrobaby too. They are great guys with plenty of knowledge, more so than myself i'm afraid

Good luck

Hi Jane

Exactly what type of lamp is is you have and what wattage of bulb is in the base? Do you have any pics. It sounds like you've done a pretty good job already so it may just be down to the wattage (heat) of the bulb. Generally. the higher the wattage the smaller the bubbles tend to be. A lower wattage bulb would generally produce larger bubbles and and sometimes the 'snake' like column of lava which some here prefer.

Best wishes
Jerome
