Seems to me like the popular gold bases with the holes should of been glittered. It didn't take long to paint, partlly because the Rust-Oleum spray nozzle stopped working after half the can maybe less. But it was good enough and looked great after a couple coats of clear coat.

I found a couple lava lamps at a goodwill one is smaller with cloudy clear liquid and navy blue lava on a brushed silver base. the one I'm planning on fixing up is a midnight from 1999.
When checking the liquid out in the parking lot, it looked like it barely had a tint of the old mason jars that are blueish green. but it was practically clear. the lava is white. when I had the chance I switched my two globes and it now has the blue/purple globe…
