Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

So the other day I was checking the new "lava lamp" listings on eBay, as I do every 30 mins or so. I'm not obsessed.

A listing popped up for a Midnight, pink/clear, with base and cap in good condition. Price: $15. Selling for heavy discount because "Lava doesn't flow."

The pics looked fine. I hit the Buy It Now button. Shortly thereafter, I received a message from the seller. "Just making sure you saw in the listing description that the lava doesn't flow." I thought that was actually a really decent thing on the seller's part. I replied and thanked the seller for the extra warning, and promised that I understood that the lamp has issues.

Lamp arrived a few days later. Opened the box, put a bulb in the base, turned lamp on. Lo and behold, lava flows just fine. Lamp looks great. Vivid pink wax and sparkling clean liquid. Turns out that the seller just needed to install a proper bulb. :D

Pics of my $15 score coming soon.
